On May 5, a U.S.-Japan Tourism Symposium in Los Angeles was held by government officials, tourism-related organizations, and businesses from the U.S. and Japan to discuss expansion of mutual tourism traffic between the U.S. and Japan.

After the symposium, a Hokuriku Tourism Promotion Event was held at Japan House, which Consul General Sone attended. The event was hosted by the Japan Tourism Agency with the cooperation of Japan House and the Consulate General of Japan in Los Angeles. Food and sake from the Hokuriku region were featured, and the event promoted tourism in and around the Hokuriku region.
