A Symposium on the Roles of Hydrogen and Carbon Management in the New Energy Economy at AltaSea

2023/3/13
On February 6, in collaboration with UCLA and Energy Independence Now, JAPAN HOUSE Los Angeles co-hosted a special seminar “Fueling the Future: A Symposium on the Roles of Hydrogen and Carbon Management in the New Energy Economy” inviting decarbonation experts at the AltaSea campus. At the first panel discussion, UCLA presented on new solutions for carbon capture, including UCLA’s groundbreaking research on efficient carbon capture directly from seawater. The second panel discussed viable hydrogen energy sectors including a pilot project at the port of Los Angeles through use of hydrogen energy. The symposium concluded with a reception where all attendees can enjoy a taste of Japanese culture through food and beverages. Consul General Sone gave a speech at the reception encouraging further US-Japan collaborations in those areas.
