Teachers of Japanese in Southern California Exchange Event

On June 22, the Consulate General and Japan Foundation Los Angeles co-hosted an exchange event for the Teachers of Japanese in Southern California, known as TJSC, at the Official Residence of Consul General Sone.
During the round-table style meeting, teachers spoke about their efforts in Japanese education, the challenges they face, and their requests to the Consulate General of Japan and the Japan Foundation. Several contemporary concerns in the field were discussed, such as a shortage of Japanese language teachers, how to inspire more people to study Japanese, and the desire for more opportunities for interaction between Japanese companies and Japanese language learners. This event provided a chance for the Consulate and Japan Foundation to hear valuable teacher input, and respond to their questions and concerns.
