JX’26 Celebrates the U.S.-Japan Entertainment Industry

JX’26 was held on March 3 at Soho Warehouse, hosted by the Consulate General of Japan in Los Angeles and the LA Next Generation Japanese American Leaders Initiative. Emcees Derek Mio and Sierra Katow headlined a lively evening celebrating U.S.-Japan partnerships and elevating Japanese culture.
This year’s event featured exclusive presentations from Japanese media and entertainment companies that have recently expanded their presence in Los Angeles.
Presenters included Vice President & Head of Nippon TV LA Tom Miyauchi, Chief Growth Officer & Vice President of TBS International Shunsuke Taki, and Chief Executive Officer of Yoshimoto Entertainment U.S.A. Matthew Ireton.
The event also included a spotlight conversation on The Meteoric Rise of Japanese Anime in Global Entertainment and Hollywood with actor & host Jacki Jing and President of Aniplex of America Inc, Yosuke Kodaka. They discussed the global impact of Japanese anime and how Japanese IP is redefining international entertainment, audience engagement, and cross-border collaboration.
JX announced the Cultural Impact Award to Aniplex of America Inc. and the Community Impact Award to the Little Tokyo Community Impact Fund. The offices of California State Assemblymembers Mark González and Jessica Caloza presented commendations to the awardees.
A representative for U.S. Congressmember Mark Takano also presented a commendation to JX for its commitment to global engagement and strengthening cultural exchange between the U.S. and Japan.
JX, which stands for Japan Crossover, connects forward-thinking leaders in the U.S. and Japan across arts, culture, technology, lifestyle, and entertainment. Through curated experiences and cross-cultural collaborations, JX aims to build community, strengthen U.S.-Japan partnerships, and elevate Japanese diasporic culture globally.
