Japanese Business Networking Event in San Diego

On June 7, the Consulate General of Japan in Los Angeles cohosted a networking event for Japanese companies in San Diego in conjunction with JETRO Los Angeles and the Japanese Maquiladora Association. The event was attended by 35 San Diego-based Japanese companies and provided an opportunity to promote networking within the region across companies and industries.
In the opening remarks, Consul General Sone expressed his hope that this event would lead to further collaboration among companies across business fields. Afterwards, Ms. Kate Leonard, Honorary Consul of Japan in San Diego, expressed her desire to continue to support Japanese companies as a local resource of the consulate stationed in San Diego.
In addition, eight Japanese companies and organizations gave a brief overview of their projects. In the closing remarks, Mr. Akira Kajita, Chief Executive Director of JETRO Los Angeles, informed the audience that he would like to continue to hold similar events.
