Celebrating Japanese & Mexican Cultures

On June 20 at the Consulate General of Mexico, the Consulates General of Japan and Mexico co-sponsored “Mi Casa es Tu Casa,” which featured Mexican and Japanese food and culture.
The festive event included special remarks by the Consul General of Mexico Ambassador Carlos Gonzalez Gutierrez, Consul General of Japan Kenko Sone, and Zacatecas Secretary of Tourism of Le Roy Barragan Ocampo. Live music and dance performers included Japanese groups Ryukyukoku Matsuri Daiko and FandangObon and Mexican food and exhibits featured the region of Zacatecas.
Japanese booths highlighted leading technologies, culture, and tourist destinations and were provided by Honda (hydrogen vehicle), Cyberdyne (robot assisting walking), Autec (sushi robot) JAPAN HOUSE Los Angeles and Japan National Tourism Organization.
Japanese food and beverage included takoyaki by Gindaco, karaage by Tenkatori, sushi by Autec (sushi robot), shaved ice by Kuramoto Ice, Calpico, Beer Suntory Premium Malts, and sake tasting by Japan Taste Marketing.
