2024 California-Japan Sister Cities Online Workshop Held
2024/6/27
On June 12, we co-hosted an online workshop event with the California-Japan Sister Cities Network (CJSCN) and Consulate General of Japan in San Francisco. Consul General of Japan Kenko Sone in Los Angeles and CJSCN President Meg Mizutani delivered remarks at the event. They were accompanied by video messages from Consul General of Japan Yo Osumi in San Francisco and California State Senator Lena A. Gonzalez.
The recent theme of CJSCN events has been “Creative Engagement of Nex Gen Leaders.” We delved into the topic this time by focusing on language exchanges. LongBeach-Yokkaichi Sister City Association President Mike Vaughn gave a presentation on some of their successful exchange programs related to language education, that has seen involvement from many young leaders.
In total, about 140 people from siste rcity organizations as well as city governments from the US and Japan participated.
