AAPI Community Leaders Luncheon
2025/6/4
In celebration of Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month, Consul General and Mrs. Sone hosted a luncheon with AAPI community leaders on May 30 at the DoubleTree Hilton Hotel in Little Tokyo. Local leaders of Cambodian, Chinese, Filipino, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, South Asian, Thai, and Vietnamese heritage joined the event.
Consul General Sone delivered remarks at the beginning of the program and offered a toast with hopes for the continued deepening of friendship among the various Asian communities in the region. While everyone enjoyed lunch and refreshments, Consul General and Mrs. Sone visited each table to join the discussions. The event ended with a group photo in the Japanese garden just outside the banquet room, originally built when the hotel was under Japanese ownership as the New Otani Hotel and Garden.
