Select LA Investment Summit 2026

2026/5/1
On April 28, World Trade Center Los Angeles (WTCLA) hosted the Select LA Investment Summit 2026. The Summit is California’s premier international investment gathering that brings together global investors with business and government leaders from the region.

At the summit, the annually updated report on foreign direct investment in California was released, showing Japan as the largest foreign investor in California. Japan was also identified as the largest foreign investor in Southern California and Los Angeles County (for over 10 consecutive years since the release of the first report).

The report highlighted the significant economic impact of Japanese investment, showing that Japanese investment has created an estimated 130,000 jobs across California, generating $15.6 billion in wages. In Southern California alone, Japanese investment has created an estimated 91,000 jobs and $11.2 billion in wages.

The Consulate General of Japan in Los Angeles will work closely with organizations such as WTCLA to promote and raise awareness of Japan's economic contributions to California.
