San Bernardino County’s “Growing Global Partnerships: Hydrogen Initiatives” Roundtable with Japanese Companies

On Mar. 21, Consulate General of Japan in Los Angeles and JETRO participated in a roundtable discussion on “Growing Global Partnerships: Hydrogen Initiatives” with San Bernardino County officials and Japanese businesses. They discussed the increasing importance of the local hydrogen industry and the increasing opportunities it offers to Japan, to the State of California, and to San Bernardino County.
Curt Hagman, former Board Chair and San Bernardino County Fourth District Supervisor, emphasized how San Bernardino County endeavors to be at the cutting edge of logistics and regional transportation issues in Southern California and welcomes new solutions to environmental issues. Consul General Sone opened the session highlighting the fast-growing hydrogen energy sector and how Japanese companies can collaborate with San Bernardino County to help achieve sustainability goals. San Bernardino County Transportation Authority and Japan Hydrogen Forum also gave presentations about their latest developments toward clean energy solutions.
