Consul General’s Commendation to the Friends of Shoseian

On Sunday, March 17, the Consulate General of Japan in Los Angeles presented the Commendation of the Consul General to the Friends of Shoseian on the occasion of the Cherry Blossom Festival at the Japanese Friendship Garden in the City of Glendale.
 
The Commendation of the Consul General was established to recognize an individual or group who has helped advance the mission of the Consulate General and has provided significant contributions to mutual understanding and promoting friendship between Japan and the United States.
 
Consul General Sone presented the Commendation of the Consul General to the Friends of Shoseian in recognition of their significant contributions in deepening mutual understanding between Japan and the U.S. and promoting the Glendale-Higashi Osaka sister city friendship, and also in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the donation of the Japanese Teahouse ‘Shoseian’ to the City of Glendale by a Higashi-Osaka citizens’ group in 1974.
