“VerdeXchange VX2023” Green Marketers Conference

From April 30 to May 3, 2023, the 16th Annual VerdeXchange VX2023 Green Marketmakers Conference was held by “environmental think-tank” VerdeXchange, and many people from US federal and state governments, environmental thought leaders, and company representatives participated.
The Consulate General of Japan in Los Angeles has been an active supporter of the VerdeXchange Conference since its inception in 2008. On April 30, Consul General Sone hosted the annual kick-off reception for scores of VIP attendees, including U.S. Congressman Mike Levin, California State Senator Josh Newman, California State Senator Bob Archuleta, California State Assemblymember Laura Friedman, Los Angeles City Councilmember Katy Yaroslavsky, Los Angeles City Councilmember Tim McOsker and many other esteemed guests too numerous to list. This year, Mayor Eikoh Yoshida of Namie Town, Fukushima Prefecture participated and introduced Namie Town’s initiative, the hydrogen town concept.
Japanese companies were featured at the reception as well as conference on May 2 and 3, with special emphasis being placed on the activities of the Japan Hydrogen Forum members, who are working here in the U.S. to establish a “hydrogen society”.
On Monday, May 1, 2023, Consul General Sone joined “VerdeXchange VX2023: Green Marketers Conference” and offered his views on the “Future of Green Infrastructure" from Japan’s perspective, joining the consuls general of France and Brazil in that discussion.
