Dinner with TOMODACHI Go For Gold Sports Leadership Program

On March 3, Consul General Sone hosted a dinner at his residence with participants of the TOMODACHI-U.S. Embassy Go for Gold Sports Leadership Program and guests of the U.S.-Japan Council, the delegation organizer. Special guests included two-time Olympic figure skating bronze medalists Alex and Maia Shibutani. The delegation members visited Los Angeles for a one-week program prior to their visit to New York and are all Japanese university students majoring in sports-related fields and pursuing careers in the sports industry.
The TOMODACHI-U.S. Embassy Go for Gold Leadership Program aims to increase the understanding and knowledge of the sports industry in the United States, with a focus on facility management, community engagement, and business of sports management among Japanese youth.
