Wednesday, June 15, the Los Angeles Dodgers hosted Japanese Heritage Night at Dodger Stadium. Among an array of activities and fun filled events, was Consul General Akira Muto's honorary first pitch.

The event paid tribute to the 80th anniversary of Executive Order 9066 and the 150th anniversary of U.S. - Japan Baseball diplomacy. For the Consul General to have participated in this event, where both Japanese and American National Anthems were played, was truly an honor.

Prior to the game, a performance by traditional Japanese drumming ensemble, LA Taiko Ichiza, took place on the field. There was also a classical Japanese dance group performing "Tanko Bushi" in the Centerfield Plaza during pre-game festivities.
