2022/8/29
On August 17, participants of the inaugural TOMODACHI Toshizo Watanabe Leadership Program sponsored by the Toshizo Watanabe Foundation visited the official residence to meet with Consul General and Mrs. Muto.  The 14 high school students from all over Japan were on a 11-day visit to Southern California to learn about the local community, history, and culture, and nurture their leadership skills.

During their visit to the official residence, Consul General spoke about his work as a diplomat and the importance of the U.S.-Japan relationship, encouraging the involvement of the students in advancing the bilateral relationship.  The students shared what motivated them to participate in the program and their dreams and aspirations for the future.
