The Consulate General of Japan in Los Angeles together with the Los Angeles Consular Corps (LACC) and Japan House Los Angeles hosted the first in-person LACC event since the start of the pandemic by inviting a former National Security Advisor, Amb. Robert O’Brien, to Japan House Los Angeles on Thursday, March 24th. In his keynote speech titled “Global Engagement in 2022 and Beyond,” Amb. O’Brien shared his view on ever-changing global politics and emerging global issues. The participants of the event also enjoyed Japanese bento lunch box.
The LACC is a group comprised of Consuls General and Honorary Consuls representing 99 countries, who are on assignment in Los Angeles. Before the pandemic, the members of LACC met regularly to share information and exchange opinions on various issues. However, their in-person activities had been halted due to COVID-19 and held only virtually for the past two years. Due to the noticeable decline in the number of COVID-19 cases and the following easing of COVID-19 restrictions, the LACC decided to resume in-person activities.
