Consul General Joins AJC and JACCC Young Leaders in Little Tokyo

On November 17, Consul General Sone joined a special event sponsored by the American Jewish Committee-Los Angeles (AJC) and the Japanese American Cultural & Community Center (JACCC) entitled “Building Bridges: The Japanese American Incarceration Experience,” which aimed to strengthen relations between young leaders of the Jewish and Japanese American communities. Members of the Japan Business Association of Southern California also attended the event.

The evening began with a tour of the Japanese American National Museum (JANM) led by docents who provided an overview of Japanese American history. After the tour, participants gathered at the JACCC for a reception and shared their impressions of the museum tour and ways in which to further enhance relations between the two communities.

Guests providing remarks included Consul General Sone, JANM Chief Operating Officer Rick Noguchi, JACCC President & CEO Patricia Wyatt, and AJC Boardmember Marcie Goldstein.
