On July 24, 2019, Consul General Akira Chiba attended the "Japan Night" presented by Trade Association of Confectionery Manufacturers (TACOM) at Dodger Stadium. At the event, the Japanese national anthem was performed by Grateful Four, a singing group consisting of 4th generation Japanese Americans, and the US national anthem was performed by Guitarist, MIYAVI, which energized the ceremony. Also, the Nisei Week Foundation which promotes Japanese and Japanese American Heritage and traditions, as well as the Nisei Week Queen and Court were introduced. Before the game began, Consul General Chiba and Professional Tennis Player Naomi Osaka threw ceremonial first pitches.

At the stadium, Japanese confectionaries were distributed to appreciative baseball fans by TACOM, as a special promotion.
