Dodgers Japan Night! Sunday, July 1, 2012

The Japan Tourism Agency (JTA) is proud to sponsor this year’s Dodgers Japan Night!  The event, scheduled for July 1, 2012 at Dodger Stadium, will feature Japanese cultural activities preceding the Los Angeles Dodgers vs. New York Mets match (starting at 5:00 pm PST).  This year’s Japan Night will not only commemorate and celebrate Japan’s ties with the Los Angeles Dodgers but will also serve as an opportunity for Japan and its people to thank both the team and Americans alike for their continued support of Japan after the 2011 earthquake and tsunami.  As a demonstration of appreciation, the representatives of Eastern Japan - Tohoku and Northern Kanto - will be traveling to Los Angeles to partake in the night’s festivities and to express to Americans that the Eastern Japan area is swiftly rebounding and is now open, welcoming tourists to experience its wonders once again.  The Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO), the main representative for the JTA in America, will also play a large part in the event, promoting Japan as a prime tourist destination and introducing travel specials. In addition, the Los Angeles Dodgers have also formed a partnership with Sanrio®, the creator of Hello Kitty®, resulting in Los Angeles Dodgers x Hello Kitty collaboration giveaway items such as crowns and a mini Hello Kitty bobblehead for fans in attendance.
