On October 2, 2016, the Tuna Canyon Detention Station Coalition unveiled their traveling exhibit funded by the National Parks Service entitled “Only the Oaks Remain,” telling the story of the City of Los Angeles site where Japanese Americans were detained during World War II. Honorable Norman Mineta, Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Japanese American National Museum, delivered the keynote address. Consul General Chiba also joined the ceremony and delivered remarks.
