Monetary Donations in Response to the Kumamoto Earthquake |

The Consulate General of Japan in Los Angeles has received many inquiries about how to make contributions to the victims of the 2016 Kumamoto Earthquake.
The Consulate General is accepting monetary donations by check. (For your information, the Japanese Red Cross Society and the Kumamoto Prefectural Government are no longer accepting monetary donations from overseas, effective June 15, 2016.)

Please write “Kumamoto Earthquake Aid” on both the check memo line and envelope. All monetary donations will be sent to the Japanese Goverment account.. Please be advised that donations will NOT be considerable as tax deductible by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service. Donations are being accepted from both individuals and organizations. (Persons desiring a receipt should write their request on a blank piece of paper. There is no special form. Please include your name or organization's name, email and mailing address. Send it together with the check.)
