Japan Diet On January 14, Prime Minister Kan announced his re-shuffled Cabinet. 
Minister Seiji Maehara remains as foreign minister. Prime Minister Kan released his basic policy for the new leadership.

Japanese diplomacy at historic watershed 
Kanrin Maru Prime Minister Kan described a new era for Japanese diplomacy in speeches this month. 
He explored five pillars of Japan's foreign policy, with the Japan-U.S. alliance as the cornerstone; and with key issues being the fostering of cooperation in Asia and global economic and security issues.

2011 JA Leadership Delegation Orientation

The thirteen members of the 2011 Japanese American Leadership Delegation gathered for an orientation on January 21 and 22 at the Japanese American National Museum.  U.S.-Japan Council President Irene Hirano Inouye will lead the delegation to Japan on this program sponsored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan and the Japan Foundation Center for Global Partnership.  Find out more at:

Love and Honor Boy idol and SMAP star singer Kimutaku  performs the role of a life time as the blind samurai in "Love and Honor," directed by Yoji Yamada.  The film will be screened at UCLA's James Bridges Theater on February 4 at 7:00 pm followed by a panel discussion.
