The JICC provides the following information and educational materials about Japan and its culture to teachers and students in Southern California and Arizona.  The JICC also maintains a mailing list of teachers and cultural organizations interested in receiving its publications without charge.


Japan Factsheet

Detailed Factsheet on Japan's economy, culture and society. A complete list, along with their contents, is available online here.    

Explore Japan A general information book about Japan (for children up to 6th grade).
Japan Side A/Side B An 8-fold pamphlet about general Japanese life and culture, with a foldout map.
Nipponia

A quarterly magazine introducing contemporary Japanese culture and society.

Children's Educational Packet Educational Packet  The materials listed above, assembled into a packet, mainly for school reports.  Teachers may also request this packet, and may request a poster of Japan for classroom display.

The UCLA Center for East Asian Studies
has resources for teaching about Japan, including information about educational standards relating to Japan and complete lesson plans.

The JICC Library has videos available for loan to educational and cultural organizations.  Please click here for more information, including a list of titles and loan policies.

The JICC also offers Public Relations and Educational Outreach program, in which members of the Consulate staff conduct lessons about Japanese culture.  Please click here for more information.
